Founded in 1994, HealthTexas Provider Network (HTPN) was formed as an innovative partnership between a physician group and Baylor Health Care System (BHCS), one of the largest hospital systems in our market. By aligning ourselves with a common vision, HTPN and BHCS have emerged as one of the premier physician-hospital alliances in the nation.
In the eighteen years since our inception, HealthTexas Provider Network has experienced tremendous growth and has made significant achievements toward creating an ideal health care delivery system. From ten physicians at the outset, we are now approximately 690 providers strong and still growing. We have evolved into a high-performing, multi-specialty, physician-led, patient-centered organization with our providers practicing in 191 care sites across 5,700 square miles of the Dallas/Fort Worth region making us a prominent medical group in our community. We employ physicians in both primary and specialty care and have achieved $619 million in gross revenue for FY12. Other FY12 key statistics include: patient visits reaching approximately 1.7 million, including over 117,000 new patients. Our network is comprised of 66 primary care centers that include: 4 senior health centers and 1 family medicine residency program and 90 specialty care centers that include: 9 physiatric medicine centers and 3 pulmonology critical care centers. We have 7 hospitalist programs and 28 specialty satellite clinics that include 13 liver disease outreach centers, 1 kidney and 1 chronic heart failure outreach center.

Since its inception, our medical group has been devoted to quality and dedicated to fulfilling our mission:
“to achieve excellence in the delivery of accessible, cost-effective, quality health care and demonstrated customer satisfaction that delivers value to patients, payers and the community.”
Our success is due to our senior leadership’s commitment to improving the quality of care we deliver to our patients. Our Board of Directors is comprised entirely of physicians, responsible for all strategies ranging from physician compensation to quality initiatives. We have promoted a shared physician-administrative team approach to the management of HealthTexas Provider Network. This unique partnership has resulted in numerous benefits to physicians, their staff and most importantly our patients. From our earliest steps of measuring how well we deliver preventive services, to our most recent emphasis on patient-centered care and the Medical Home, we have successfully embraced a myriad of initiatives, resulting in best care practices for our patients.
